This list while primarily for Massachusetts SSPOs, welcomes Massachusetts State Police Troopers, University of Massachusetts Campus Police Officers, Officers from Massachusetts Municipal Police Departments, and other personnel connected with law enforcement with a viable connection to and/or with MSSPOs (I.E. Sheriffs, Deputy Sheriffs, Environmental Police).

The MassSpecialStatePolice e-list is a ~RESTRICTED~ list and as such, access is limited to MSSPOs and LEOs, both active and retired. At the time this list was created, most of the members knew one another and so we could verify employment/retirement status on an “I know him/her” basis. As time went by and word of our MassSpecialStatePolice e-list got around, we begin to receive requests from persons not known to group members. Due to circumstances, the list owner or a moderator must approve all new members.

Before you can become a full and active member, you MUST send an e-mail requesting admission to MassSpecialStatePolice List-Owner. Your membership will not be approved until this step is done. We are sorry for any inconvenience this extra step may cause, but it has become necessary to ensure the integrity of the MassSpecialStatePolice e-mail list.

In this letter you must include:
1) REAL full name [first name, middle initial, last name].
2) Rank [I.E. Patrolman, Trooper, Sergeant, Capt.].
3) Agency you work for, or retired from.
4) Departmental phone number [in case voice verification is required].
5) How you heard of the MassSpecialStatePolice list [friend, website, flyer].

In addition to the above, would you please include something general about yourself, such as, how long you’ve been an officer, what are your hobbies, do you have a website and/or run your own e-mail list.

Again, before your membership will be activated, you are required to send an e-mail with the above information to: MassSpecialStatePolice List-Owner.

After you have been made a full member. Please take note of the following:

All messages posted on the MassSpecialStatePolice list are solely the responsibility of the author who posted the message. As a member of this list you agree and abide to hold the list owner and moderators harmless and immune from any and all responsibility for the accuracy and/or timeliness of any postings. Your continued use of, and/or membership on this list constitutes and ongoing agreement to this policy.

Because this list is run entirely by volunteers, all list members are expected to maintain their own membership account by becoming familiar with the website Yahoo Groups. It is strongly suggested, and recommended that you register and create a password. Upon subscription approval please list your full name in the profile you will be prompted to create, this expectation is firm. Please navigate Yahoo Groups and become familiar with how to modify your membership settings.
